The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the killing of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Agbarho, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Sylvester Efeurhobo.
A source in the community, who did not want his name in print for security reasons, told PUNCH Metro on Monday that the deceased was shot dead by his assailants at his residence in Agbarho on Sunday.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing and the arrest of the suspects on Tuesday.
“It is confirmed, we are still investigating. So far three suspects have been arrested,” he said in response to an inquiry from PUNCH Metro.
The deceased is said to be the chairman of an APC support group in the area known as Achievers Group.
Party loyalists in the community have since called on security authorities to thoroughly investigate the case and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
