The Edo State Police Command has arrested four suspected armed robbers disguised in military uniform.
The Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said the suspects attacked and robbed a woman of her money and other valuables in Benin.
They were arrested by intelligence officers following a report by the victim, Grace Ainabe, whose residence was invaded.
The suspects are Iyabo Victor, 35 (the leader), Osas Aganmwonyi, 28, Nosa Owie, 24, and Idi Etukudo.
Wearing military uniforms, armed with guns, they broke into the victim’s house in Teboga community and carted away money, phones and jewellery.
Grace narrated how they entered her house through the POP ceiling, robbed the family of their belongings and transferred N447,000.
“They collected her phone and forcibly obtained her secret code number so they could access her bank details,” Nwabuzor said.
Police found that after the transfer, the suspects changed the money into foreign currency and shared it.
Items from them include Iphone13 worth N500,000, IPhone 6 worth N48,000 and jewelery worth N850,000.
Others include a standing fan worth N95,000, an LG split air conditioner worth N360,000, washing machine, inverter battery, accessories, gas cylinders, among others.
